Funny Picture of the Week

This is my funny picture because, well, LOOK AT HOW TINY I WAS!

It is just really weird because it seems like forever ago that I got that first bow from my step-dad.  It probably would have been way easier on my parents if they HAD NOT let me have a bow because now its much more complicated and expensive, but I am so glad they did.  I can’t imagine ever having a day when I didn’t pick up a bow to shoot!

Bow Cant

I have been trying to figure out how to fix a slight cant I have when I shoot. I was having a hard time figuring out the right way to grip the bow without leading to canting it cause my hands are still small.  Awesome step dad did this so that helped!  Now alternating between using it and covering it.  Almost got the position down!

Gabriel was my inspiration for getting back into archery.  When we first got going, we were both relatively bad at it, but it didn’t take Gabriel long to jump ahead.  He was a natural for instinctive shooting while I took the more technical path as a Gap shooter.

One day, over a year ago, Gabriel was struggling with his form. He couldn’t figure out why.  I watched him shoot and quickly realized that he was not making his anchor point.  He tried and tried, but could not make his anchor point with an arrow on the string.  If you took the arrow off the string he would make it to anchor every time.  We tried everything we could to fix it, a bow with…
