I was going into the tournament feeling really confident I was going to do well. We were in the car on the way to the field and I was doing my regular routine. When I arrived, I started to get butterflies in my stomach. I started stretching, shot some practice to warm up and I shot well so my butterflies went away. About four ends into the tournament the sky got dark and grey and then it started to rain. I got distracted by it because while I was shooting, I could feel it falling on my head. After that realization, I followed with bad shooting. Once the rain stopped, my shooting improved briefly but then the wind picked up. It was blowing three different directions in five minutes! After the wind finally stopped blowing hard, it went up to 82 degrees and after all that, I was really discouraged because I wasn’t shooting well since I wasn’t focused on shooting. Overall, I didn’t do great because I was second to last but it was my first FITA, I am 12 and still learning. I learn something new in each tournament situation. I still thought I didn’t do as good as I should have so I am going back to practice and plan to do a lot better for Gator Cup!
